I love injecting a little colour back into my black and white shots. This time, I've taken it to an extreme I thought I would never reach. I've held back posting these for days, revisiting them thinking I would pull them back towards reality. But each time I've thought they needed more.
I'm almost scared to say it, but I love them. I so enjoyed taking these shots, it was unplanned and very dark. But I managed to find a few perches for my camera to avoid camera shake, or I just ramped up the ISO and prayed for steady hands. And the post processing too: I've recently switched back to Photoshop so these have all been through ACR (but not full Photoshop) and I've really got to know the module again, and enjoyed the split tone function very much.
Anyway, I hadn't planned on creating two sets. I made the blue-green / mauve set first and was happy. But I remembered the weird orange glow from the phosphorescent lighting down there and thought I could produce something with a twist on how it actually looked. So I've also done a crimson red / yellow set. I think I prefer the red set.
