The Colour Of Suffolk

When the recent Creative Spaces exhibition (still running) was announced I knew I wanted to get some kind of portfolio together as well as displaying framed photographs. So I decided to create a photo book of my best work, some of my Flickr contacts had done so before and it's something I'd always intended to get done sometime. After a bit of faffing around, I decided to use DS Colour Labs in Didsbury, Manchester; they have a great reputation and although the photo book product they offer is apparently fairly new, I felt confident that they would deliver. And they did!

The Colour of Suffolk is a soft cover 8" x 8" book printed on professional photographic paper. It has 26 sturdy pages and each double page lies completely flat. This allows me to include very large — up to 16" x 8" photographs which look fantastic - they are same quality as a professional print. I have included 18 photographs on the 26 pages and there is no text.

I decided to use photographs from Suffolk as these best represent where I am at with my photography right now, I also believe they are my best work. They are mostly black and white images, many of which I have toned to try and represent a feel of the scene. This is the style of photography I have developed over the last few years since I decided to switch to black and white. See my Suffolk, January 2009 gallery to get an idea of which photographs I've used.

The book has gone down very well at the exhibition and everyone has been very impressed with the quality of the book itself as well as being complimentary of my photography so I'm really proud of the finished result.

I'm offering 10 copies of the book for sale as a limited edition. These will include an extra 2 pages of additional content and will be signed and numbered. I will deliver before Christmas 2010 (in the UK). Price £35. At the time of writing I have 8 copies left.

I am also selling the standard edition of the book for £45 and will ship within a couple of weeks of order.

Please email me if you're interested.

If you'd like to help me out :D the following code can be copied and pasted into a web page or blog post to produce the little ad above. I will be forever in your debt. Thank you.
